Race Day
Location/Time
The event will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Owens State Community College’s Center for Emergency Preparedness facility. Event registration starts at 7:00am, 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk starts at 8:00am, and the 5K Run starts at 9:00am. After participants are finished with their events, stay and meet local law enforcement officers and other vendors!
Events
The 1 Mile Fun Run is a non-timed, non-placed 1.0 mile fun run for children, family members, and anyone else who wants to get out and walk for the cause! Entry is FREE for children ages 12 and under, and $15.00 for individuals ages 13 and up. Bring the whole family out and enjoy a walk or run through “Responderville,” Owens State Community College’s state-of-the-art Homeland Security training facility!
The 5K Run is a certified 3.12 mile 5K road race that goes through “Responderville,” and crosses over Tracy Road into the Law Enforcement Driving Training course. Entry is $25.00 for individuals ages 12 and up. This is a timed event and participants will be given a BIB number to keep track of place.
Course
Event staff will be throughout the course to assist in lost participants, signage will be placed throughout the course, and there will be event staff at water stations throughout the course as well.
T-Shirts
T-shirts will be given out to the first 100 participants who register for the 5K run. T-shirts will also be available for purchase the day of event.
Timing / Awards
Chronomix will be used for the 5K run and results will be posted after final scoring. Results will also be posted to Active Network.
Awards will be given to the top 3 performers in each of the following groups:
Top 3 Males and Top 3 Females Overall
Top 3 in Each Age Group:
Ages 12 – 19
Ages 20 – 29
Ages 30 – 39
Ages 40 – 49
Ages 50 – 59
Ages 60 & Up
Parking
Parking will be on the driving pad across the street from the Center for Emergency Preparedness (corner of Tracy Road and Walbridge Road West). Event staff will direct cars into the lot from Walbridge Road gate.
*Refund Policy – Entries are non-refundable. Participant(s) understand the event may be postponed or cancelled due to severe weather conditions or other circumstances out of the control of the event management staff. The event management will do everything to accommodate in these situations and hope to not cancel the event unless absolutely necessary.
